We are often asked if artificial grass is suitable for dogs?
The answer to this question is of course yes…
Dogs are often the reason many of us end up with a need for artificial grass in the first place.
As we all know we are a nation of dog lovers but when it comes to our lawns they do have an annoying habit of digging holes, constantly tracking mud and dust into our homes and their urine scorches and damages the grass, leaving us all with an unsightly lawn area.
Replacing our natural lawns with artificial grass is great option to over come these issues, however until recently whilst artificial grass has always been suitable for dogs we have found that in some cases lawns can become very smelly.
The urine and such itself are harmless to the artificial grass and they will not discolour the fibres; however, if the grass is not cleaned regularly animal urine will crystallise, cause ammonia and therefore will start to smell.
We do highly recommend that you wash your grass regularly to prevent any odours developing and also advisable you use a proper artificial grass Enzyme cleaner or deodoriser.
When considering artificial grass as a dog owner you should always consider an enzyme cleaner.
